How to connect tenants on Irish landed estates to the owners

My Irish ancestors were tenant farmers. In the time of Griffiths Valuation, the land was owned by the Capel Molyneux, the 7th Baronet of Castle Dillon, County Armagh. The land seems to have passed to his only daughter, Julia Mary Elizabeth (Molyneux) Talbot, who transferred the title to various family members of mine in 1910, under direction of the Land Commission.

I'd like to connect the 1910 purchasers to Julia Talbot and the 19th century occupants to the Baronet. I could clearly do this by use of a reference in the Biography, but I'm asking this to find out if there is some other standard way of handling the situation.

There is no way that you can link to an unrelated profile (non family) directly. As you know you can provide a link to the profile in the Bio. But when you have multiples that need to be linked then I think you might want to use a Free Space. You can consolidate the info there with links to and from the various profiles. If memory serves me right then Melanie Paul is a good person to talk to about designing a Free Spaces with this in mind. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Paul-5413

Here is info on Free Space Profiles ( https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Free-Space_Profile ) and Free Space Projects ( https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Free-Space_Projects )

Hope that helps.

Another option is to start a One Place Study for Castle Dillion, You could have the history of the castle and how the land was divided up with links to the people involved. Also a category could be set up for all those people.

If you're interested. let me know and the Ireland Project can help you get it set up..

I like the idea of a Space for Castle Dillon, but I don't think the lessors in other parts of Ireland ought to be connected to the castle in Armagh. In my case, I'm focused on Queen's County / Laois. I think I'll start with a space tied to that county, which could end up becoming more than that in the future.

Thanks for all the good advice! I'm posting to describe what I have done and to ask for help for the next step.

I created a free space page here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Drumnabehy_Townland%2C_County_Laois. It's very much a work in progress, so I made it Public rather than Open.

As stated in the text, I was not initially sure if it would be a One Place Study, but now I think it should be. So my questions relate to how to make that transition...

1. Must I just start over following the instructions for creating a one place study or can what I have be converted?

2. Is it OK to keep it Public for a few weeks?

3. Does the name of the free space have to be changed to say "One Place Study?"

4. I feel like this may expand geographically but I don't what to predict how far. Most likely to include several other small adjoining townlands. Families tended to move from one to another due to marriages. Can that be handled in the future?
