Need to find paternal grandfather who was a descendant of Jan Broersen Decker that lived in Chicago in 1926.

My father, Thomas William Kasprzak, b. 7 May 1927 in Chicago, IL d. 1996, was adopted at birth by the Thomas William Kasprzak Sr. family.  The name on his original birth certificate was Eugene Vincent Ebel and it claimed a Eugene Ebel was the father.  However, this was a fictitious name as Ebel was the maiden name of his maternal grandmother, Vincenzie Ebel Soustek. The birth mother was Antoinette Soustek b. 22 Jan 1910 d. 1985 and she falsely claimed to be married to a Eugene Ebel.

My research has found only one Decker man whose family claims descent from JBD, that was living in the right place, right time.  However, Y-DNA testing of this man's legitimate son reveals that he was NOT a descendant of JBD (or his son wasn't).

I realize that the surname of my paternal gf might not even have been Decker, even though he was a direct paternal descendant of JBD.  Anyone who might have known who the father was is deceased and Antoinette fabricated tales about him.

I have a huge xlsx file of FF matches on the paternal side but haven't had the courage yet to try and make mirror trees of these matches.   So, other than that, if anyone has a Decker ancestor in their tree who may be a candidate please let me know.

Thanks...Barbara Peterson

Eddie..thanks for the response.  But my problem is that the only Decker, whose daughter claims is a descendant of JBD, that lived in the Chicago area at the right time and was the right age, was not really a descendant.  At least, his son's Y-DNA signature is totally different from that of other JBD descendants.

So either this Decker's son is not his son or he is not a JBD descendant.  I think the latter is more probable.

I just am having a hard time finding any other male descendant who would have been here in Chicago at the time.  I've searched down a lot of male descendants lines. My brother had a 110/111 Y match with a Decker from Pennsylvania.  He had a great uncle that the 1920 census shows was living in Detroit.  This man is the closest geographically but still not close enough to impregnate my maternal gm in 1926 ;-).
