I was awarding a badge and it went to some other profile [closed]

Question

It should have gone to Du_Rietz-10 (g. Du Rietz) and instead ended up on Rietz-10.  How can this be fixed?  (I didn't enter the "Rietz-10; that was automatically generated into the field.  How can this happen if you're on the correct profile and click to give them the badge?  I didn't even know there was a "Max Rietz".)

I did some testing and I couldn't get the same behavior.

How did you go about awarding the badge? Were you on Du_Rietz-10's page and clicked "award generous genealogist badge", or did you award it some other way?

I was on Du_Rietz's page and clicked to award the badge.  This was not my error, as such.   It is an error that has happened in the past, apparently.  In fact, for one person it took three tries before it worked correctly.

I just need the badge removed from "Max", so I can correctly award it where it should have gone (which I now cannot do until tomorrow).

I just wanted to confirm that I was testing the same way that you awarded the badge. I'll add it to the bugs list and see if I can figure out why it happened and if we can prevent it from happening again.

The badge has been removed from Max.

It's the underscore, apparently.  (Maybe it's not fixable, seeing it has happened before (September 2017, according to the link I edited in) and is still happening.

I'll just need to be really careful tomorrow.
