Biography

Elizabeth Douglas is a member of Clan Douglas.

Elizabeth was the fourth daughter of James Douglas and Beatrice Sinclair.[1]

She married John Wallace of Craigie.[2]

Mother of Lady Margaret Balfour-Douglas, Countess of Morton[citation needed]

Research Notes

Jame Balfour Paul claims that she married John Wallace orather than WIlliam Wallace.[1]
The birth of her son John is estimated to be prior to 5 Jun 1413 and as the minimum age for girls to marry was 12, one would infer that she was born prior to 5 Jun 1400

James Balfour Paul and William Fraser named Sir John Wallace of Craigie as the husband of Elizabeth Douglas.[3][4] As there was no mention in these sources, or any other reviewed sources, that indicated that Elizabeth was married to James Muschat, he has been removed as Elizabeth's spouse.
