Aged Resident Expires Near Wilbur After Long Illness.
Roseburg, Or., April 29 - (Special) - John Agee, 73 years old, a pioneer of Oregon, died at his home about two miles southwest of Wilbur, Douglas County, late yesterday. Mr. Agee had been in poor health for five years. John Agee was born in Missouri, where he spent his boyhood days. Early in 1852 he crossed the plains behind an ox team, locating in the vicinity of The Dalles. About 40 years ago he came to Roseburg and later purchased a farm near Wilbur, where he had since resided. Besides a widow, he is survived by four sons, Roy Agee, deputy in the County Clerk's office at Roseburg; Zopher Agee, ex-Clerk of Douglas County, now of Portland; Owen, of Rainier, and Ray, of Garden Valley; five daughters, Mrs. John Ellison of Calapooia; Mrs. S.W. Leake, of Dixonville; Mrs. Frank Chapman, of Portland; Emma and Kate Agee, of Garden Valley. He also leaves four brothers.
