Biography

Jabez Dean of Norwich (Connecticut) and Jedidah Allen "of Chillmarke in Dukes County" (i.e., Chilmark, Massachusetts; on Martha's Vineyard) were married on 28 November 1745.^[1]

Jedidah Dean died on 15 January 1787, reportedly at the age of 71 years, and is buried in Windham Center Cemetery, Windham, Connecticut.^[2] Her husband died the following day and is buried with her under the same grave marker.^[3][4] Her inscription reads: "In memory of Mrs. Jedidah Dean wife of Capt. Jabez Dean. She departed life Jany 15th 1787 in ye 72d Year of her Age."^[5]
