Biography

Samuel Bacon immigrated to New England as a child during the Puritan Great Migration (1621-1640).

In 1625 Samuel Bacon traveled with his father, George and two siblings, Susan and John from Great Britain to Massachusetts aboard the passenger ship "Increase".

Samuel deeded property to his brother Peter 28 March 1672. He mentions his mother Margaret Gold.[1]

This Samuel did not die in 1681.
Anderson says in his article on George Bacon: Samuel was born about 1623. He was 12 when they sailed. He was still living 28 March 1672. He is not the Samuel Bacon who m. Hingham 17 Dec 1675 'Mary Jacob the daughter of John Jacob' was son of Nathaniel Bacon of Barnstable.[2] It was Samuel husband of Mary Jacob who died in 1681.[3]
This was not the husband of Martha Foxwell.
The Samuel who married Martha Foxwell, was born 1636; d. 1695 in New Jersey. He was the son of William Bacon and Ann. He removed to New Jersey between 1661 and 1664, so was not still in Hingham.[4]

An error was made when Joseph Bacon-1484 was attached to this Samuel. I am correcting this. Bacon-1484 is the son of the Samuel who went to New Jersey.
