Rosanna "Rose" Berry married about 1706 in Fauquier, Virginia to Thomas Edward Ashby. ^[1]

She died on 02 Apr 1752 in Frederick, Virginia. ^{[2] [3]}

• Rosanna was born abt 1680 or after in Virginia. There is a great deal of debate over who her parents were, but it is believed by some that her father was Henry Berry born about 1652 to Henry Berry Sr. For more information regarding Rose Ashby's possible lineage, go to archives.rootsweb.ancestry.com>ASHBY>2009-06 (Nena Smothers). It is likely that Rose (Berry?)Ashby is buried next to her husband in this cemetery as she died about five months afterwards.

Rosanna married Thomas Ashby in the early 1700's and they had at least 10 children (maybe more): Captain John Jack Ashby, Lt. Benjamin Ashby, Captain Stephen A. Ashby, Captain Thomas Edward Ashby, Captain Robert Ashby, Lt. Henry Ashby, then at least four daughters - Elizabeth, Sarah, Rose, Ann and maybe ? Constantia. Some consider Captain Stephen Ashby's preliminary Declaration of Independence document to have been an influence on Thomas Jefferson. All of these Ashby sons were close to Col. George Washington.
