I was born in the late fifties in NE Montana. My parents were first cousins. I am their only surviving child. I had an elder brother, John Ralston, who was born in 1953 and lived for only about nine days due to a congenitally malformed and non-functioning pancreas. Of interest, our mother, Attie M. Blevins, died of pancreatic cancer herself.
I was born Ned Claude Blevins. I added "Gregory" to my name when I was ordained a deacon, about 11 months before my ordination to the priesthood, in honor of St. Gregory of Nyssa.
My Y-haplotype, according to 23 and Me, is E-V13 and my Mt-DNA maternal haplotype is J1c3a.
