Biography

Kiziah, alias Keziah, Elizabeth Brooks was born about 1735 at Sullivan, Virginia.[1] Keziah was the daughter of Littleton Brooks,[2] a French fur trader and his Cherokee wife.[3] She married James Williams at Sullivan, Virginia.[3] Keziah Williams died on 16 November 1785 at Surry, North Carolina, United States.[1]

Research Notes

  • Note a son of James Williams is named Sherrod and the father of James Patillo Williams is Sherrod. Also, the child in the Sons of the Revolution Charles Bruce Williams is not even mentioned.
Keziah married James Williams (born about 1725 in Wales) in Sullivan. Their children were:
Keziah married James Patillo Williams (born in 1730 in Hanover, Virginia; son of Sherrod Williams). Their son was William Witham Clayton Williams (1760–1846).

Brooks-4258 and Brooks-4023 are not ready to be merged because: I don't see any reason to believe these are duplicates. Different husbands (same names, but not same person), different birth and death dates. Need to confirm that the two James Williams are the same, and get some sources on both of these profiles, before we can merge.

In comparing Brooks-4023 and Brooks-5748 it appears that they should be merged; however, what is the correct spelling of her first name: Keziah or Kiziah? I did not approve the merge for this reason.
