Biography
Charles Brown was born in Scotland.
Charles Donald Brown was born 14 Sep 1884 in North Cotton, Kintore[1], the son of Jane Donald and James Brown. In the 1891 census, Charles was with his parents and siblings James, William J, Alexander W, John D, Isabella S, Alfred N and three servants at North Cotton. In the 1901 census, Charles, a 16 year old Engine Driver Stationer, was with his parents and siblings Alexander, John, Alfred, Isabella, Aunt Mary and two servants at North Cotton.
Charles, a 20 year old Sawmiller from Cotton, married Jessie Ann McLauchlan Anderson, a 28 year old Dressmaker from 46 Marischal in Aberdeen. They married on 08 Feb 1905 at Jessie's home. Witnesses were John D. Brown and Maggie W. Anderson. In the 1911 census, Charles, a Wood Merchant, and Jessie were at Darra Kintore with their three daughters Edna 5, Evelyn 4 and Mabel 2.
Charles was buried in the Kintore Kirkyard and the Memorial Inscription indicates he died at Ivy Bank, Kintore, on 02 Dec 1972.
