DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Tim by comparing test results with other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Tim:

Have you taken a DNA test? If so, login to add it. If not, see our friends at Ancestry DNA.

Tim,

This week we have your last stop on the guided tour. Hopefully, you're feeling like a WikiTree pro! If not, you can always revisit the tour stops via the comment boxes on the right side of your profile.

You've covered a lot of ground the past few weeks. Today, we want to give you just a few more tools that can take you even deeper into the WikiTree forest without getting lost: How to Dig a Little Deeper.

As always, your questions are welcome!

Emma :-)

Tim and Emma are 21st cousins through my French Canadian line. Welcome cousin!

There is a very cool feature at the bottom of every person's profile if they have a connected tree. It is a link to "find your genealogical relationship with..."

Tim,

As I am sure you know by now when you added a GEcom you added many, many duplicates. It seems the gedcom was created by a download from Wikitree - you can see that duplicate ID in the profiles. I am proposed merges for some - many have you as the manager for both so those you can merge easily, simply delete all material in the duplicate and you will be OK for those. The others you will need to work with a second manager. If you are not sure how to move forward, I suggest a mentor - Vicky has left you a note, she should be a good person to ask.

:D Seriously don't sweat it. I don't think anyone is too worried ... We've all made plenty of mistakes, and I hope you don't feel named-and-shamed. GEDcoms imports are complicated, and merges can be a pain. But it's not thousands of profiles, so I think you're good.

If you need any help with anything, let me know, I'll be happy to pitch in!

Hi Tim,

You've probably been hard at work adding family members and getting connected to those that are already here. You should have at least a few profiles that you manage now. So, this week we're going to look at How to be a Successful WikiTreer: How to be a Successful WikiTreer.

And this week we're going to also look at: How to Work with Your Watchlist: How to Manage Your Watchlist.

As always, your questions are welcome!
