Anne David was the métis daughter of Jean Baptiste David and Marguerite Lapierre. She was was born on 14 April 1720 and was baptized the same day she was born at Saint Charles des Mines, Grand-Pré, Acadia. Her godparents were Jean Gautreau and Marie Leblanc.[1][2]
She married Joseph Dugas, the son of Francois Dugas and Claire Bourg-26|Claire Bourg, on February 11, 1743 at St. Jean Baptiste Parish in Port Royal, Nova Scotia.[3]
Anne is the correct name. Marguerite was a transcription error in the register in the Canadiana Heritage database. The name Anne is confirmed by Diocese of Baton Rouge Catholic Church Records.
