Biography

Edward Derrick was probably born in about 1703, based on the date of his marriage. Some researchers identify his parents as Thomas Derrick and Amey Maddox.^{[citation needed]}

Her married Jemima Powell at St. Paul's Parish, Stafford County, Colony of Virginia, on 2 January 1728/9.^[1]

Edward Derrick probably died on 27 August 1740 in St. Paul's Parish.^[1] The transcription of the parish register records his death on 27 August 1741, but the probate files of Stafford County reflect that his estate was appraised on May 13, 1740 and inventory admitted into record at Court held for Stafford County, by William Powell and John Buckner, on June 10, 1740.^[2]
