Thank you for your message regarding the Willans Family. Unfortunately I don't have any information about the parents of Thomas Willans- couldn't find a baptism record yet but will look more thoroughly tomorrow. I have updated his profile and also the profile for his wife and his son, John Willans and John's wife, Kate.
Thomas Willans was a Packer in a clothing mill at Leeds, so he was associated with the cloth industry in Leeds. He is probably related in some way to the Willans family who owned the mills but not a direct descendant. The Willans name appears to be quite common in the Leeds area.
I'll see if I can find more sources for the other members of you Willans family and add them, but as you probably know, it is quite difficult finding records for Canada (well it is for me).
Hope what I have added is some help to you.
Kind Regards,
Diane
Thanks for doing so much! I didn't expect so much information that quickly. I found a family tree through one of my sibling's ancestry accounts that has supposed parent and grandparents - though not sourced - I can email screenshots tomorrow if you'd like. I can deal with Canadian stuff somewhat easier than the British/Irish sides of things, so you don't need to grind time for that, but thanks for the help you gave there too!
This is a courtesy e-mail to see how things are going. Are you enjoying WikiTree so far? One of our mentors created a tutorial for the GEDCOMpare process that I found very helpful. I hope that you will too.
Have the tips in the New Member How-Tos been helpful? Most of us still have some questions after reviewing them; I'm here to help answer them.
I noticed your note about your Dad being adopted. Did anyone share the special page created to help Adoptees set up their profiles? It explains lot of options that you have when creating his profile and how to get some additional help.
I'm here to answer questions about WikiTree! You can reply to this comment or send me a private message.

I would suggest starting with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.
I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a name back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site
Happy tree climbing
