Hi Rusty,

Please make sure that when you are making "big" changes to a profile, such as removing a mother, the you add the source of your change and make a comment about why the change was made.

Hi!

Just checking in with a few quick tips:

Looking to make more connections or find more information about an ancestor but not sure how to do that? Try categorizing your profiles.

Not sure what to put into a biography? Here are some Bio Ideas. Also, make sure that the biographies match WikiTree’s Styles and Standards.

If you come across an unresponsive manager, we have a process for those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, please ask!!

Hi Rusty,

I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great! Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in?

Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors? Let me know.

I can help you figure out if there's a project and introduce you to the project leaders.

Guy - Wikitree Mentor

Thought I'd try out this site to see if I can be useful, and introduce you to my ancestors.

Rusty,

I noticed you uploaded or plan to upload a GEDCOM. Our process here is a little different than what you might find on other sites because of our goal of growing one worldwide tree with a single profile for each individual. Here's two links : 1) Before Importing a gedcom

2) link to the process. Feel free to message me if you have any questions! TIP: if your ancestor was born over two hundred years ago, there's a very good chance she/he already has a profile on wikitree. Before creating a new profile, use the "search function" up on top to see if your ancestor is already here.
