Biography

Lydia (Fisher) Morse immigrated to New England as a child during the Puritan Great Migration (1621-1640).

Lydia Morse was born in 1620/1 and was baptized on 4 March 1620/1 in Syleham, Suffolk, England. She was the daughter of Anthony Fisher and an unknown mother, who some claimed (unsubstantiated) to be Mary Buckingham.

Lydia Fisher emigrated from England and arrived in Dedham, Massachusetts in 1637 with her parents^[1].

In 1638 Lydia and Daniel Morse were married in Dedham, Middlesex County.^[2][3]. Both their fathers were signers of the Dedham Convenant (1637). It is not known, however, if the Morse and Fisher families knew each other in Suffolk, England - their birth towns were about 10 miles apart, so it is quite possible.

Lydia and Daniel's first child, Obadieh, was born in August 1639.

Lydia passed away on 29 January 1690/91 in Sherborn, Middlesex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony.^[4][5]
