Research note

I found these old comments at Ancestry and I do not want to forget them, they may be useful as clues for research. Vmorales Re: Two Different Edward Greens revkincey Posted: 4 Dec 2015 Surnames: Lundy, Green, Powell, Turner <http://connect.ancestry.ca/Profile/0032e637-0003-0000-0000-000000000000> What I posted above on October 29, 2015 is incorrect. Burchett Lundy married Joseph Turner and together they had 7 to 10 children. He died around 1737, his will was probated, and is of record. Thomas Edward Green married Burchett Lundy Turner in 1740 and had one child: William Green (1739-1799), who married Mary Elizabeth Christmas (1745-1789). Thomas Edward Green (1700-1783) married Mary Henrietta Powell and they had 8 to 10 children. Mary Henrietta Powell Green died around 1737-39. Approximately 100% of trees on Ancestry.com show Burchett Lundy as the mother of Thomas Edward Green (1700-1783), when in fact, she was the second wife of Thomas Edward Green, and even I got them mixed up (posted above).

Betty, we need sources for this man whom we jointly manage. If he died in 1728 (not sourced) he is not the one who married Burchett Lundy as the Edward she married was not until after her husband Turner died in abt 1737 per Court records.

Victor should not have made changes before he found a source. Luckily he did not change the bio to agree.

I spend some time looking at the problem of the multiple Thomas Edward Green and I re-arranged a couple of profiles so they have a more credible date sequence. First, the Thomas Green 1670-1728 is too old to be the father of William Green 1739-1799; therefore, Thomas Green 1700-1783 must be in between. Plus we know that William Green was the son of Burchett Lundy. I am not so sure about the first Thomas Green. I found that Green-704 has all the proper information so I connected to Green-3669. I will keep looking for solid sources to assure this sequence.

This Thomas is not supported by a source SO I am changing the date of b to 1670 so he can be merged with Thomas Edward and thereby disappear.
