Private Duty Greene served with Berkshire County Militia, Massachusetts Militia during the American Revolution.

Duty Greene is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A046881.

FAG and FamilySearch has one set of parents but he is not listed as their child in the Green Family book. The Greene family book only has one Duty listed as son of parents attached.

The DAR list Duty Greene Birth: 3-18-1761 West Greenwich, Kent, Rhode Island Death: 7-2-1842 Washington, Ohio. Served as a Private with the Massachusetts Militia. He married Polly Smith. Numerous children listed. [1]

Inscription on modern day marker stone: DUTY GREEN PVT 12 MASS REGT REVOLUTIONARY WAR 1761 1842" This is a modern day stone, probably installed by a lineage society, and an addition to his original tombstone at the grave site. [2]

Rhode Island Vital Records list a Duty Greene born Duty 27 May 1768 a son of Benjamin Greene and Mehitable in Washington County, RI. [3]

Died 1796 in NY Mother: Ruth Matteson born 16 Oct 1724 same place. Died 1820 place unknown Sources: Vital Records of RI Rhode Island Genealogical Register Ancestry Family Trees

The Duty Greene of Benjamin Greene and Mehitable Tripp was born in May 1768 in Exeter, Rhode Island. It's listed in Rhode Island Vital Records.

I don't think anyone has definitively found the parents of Duty Greene the Revolutionary War veteran.
