Obituary

Services for Alford Benton Grissom, 80, of Rt. 1, Spruce Pine, were held Sunday, March 4, 1984 at 1 p.m., from Akins funeral Home Chapel with Carl Gilbert officiating.

Burial followed in the Quinn Memorial Cemetery.

A native of Alabama and a member of the Church of Christ, Grissom died, March 2, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Pearl Grissom, Spruce Pine; two daughters, Mrs. Ira Lewis, Spruce Pine, Mrs. Wyvonne Hinz, Spruce Pine; four sons, J. C. Grissom, Spruce Pine, Tommy Grissom, Spruce Pine, James Grissom, Jasper, Teddy Grissom, Spruce Pine; two sisters, Mrs. Lena King, Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Leotia Martin, Spruce Pine; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Akins Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
