Ruth was a daughter of Richard Hardy and Ann Husted. She was born on November 8, 1660 at Stamford, Fairfield, Connecticut.

Ruth was married twice:

  • 1) John Mead (John,William) 27 October, 1681 at Greenwich, Connecticut. John Mead died 12 May, 1693 at only thirty-four years old.[2]
