Biography

The early years

Joseph was born the 10th of April 1775 . He is the son of Richard Hargis and Jeannie Long in Orange, North Carolina[1].

It is believed the siblings are:

Family life

Joseph would first marry Polly Raglen on the 12th of Sep 1797 in Person North Carolina[4]. The Bondsman was Thomas Hargis

The children are currently unknown, however based on the 1800-1830 census records believe they had at least 6.

He would later marry Mary Ann Sims on the 31st of May 1842 in Floyd, Georgia[5].
