Biography

• Thankful Hough was born 13 Dec 1757, in Sharon TWP, Litchfield, Connecticut, the daughter of Jonathan Hough and Desire Rowlery^[1] She married ELISHA ALDERMAN about 1776, probably in New York.
• One source lists Thankful's 19 Mar 1753 birth in Wall, New Haven, Connecticut, to her father, Zephaniah Huff. And in 1775, Thankful married Elisha Alderman in Schenectady, New York, and died 1829 in Marietta, Washington, Ohio^[2][3]

Others say that Thankful Hough was born 13 Dec. 1757, Sharon, Litchfield, Connecticut dau of Jonathan (8 Jun 1729 New Fairfield, Fairfield, Connecticut - Dec 1804 Schuyler, Herkimer, New York) and Desire Rowley (2 Dec 1731 Sharon, Connecticut - ).

• Her parents, Jonathan and Desire, and their known children and their spouses left Connecticut and migrated westward in New York over a course of almost 50 years.^[3]
• Thankful married Elisha Alderman about 1776, probably in N.Y.^[3]
• After marriage, Thankful and Elisha Alderman went from southwestern New York to Homer Township in Athens (now Morgan) County, Ohio, with a large family.^[3]
• Death: 1829 - died, age 76, Marietta, Washington, Ohio ^[3]
