Biography

Martha Hull immigrated to New England as a child during the Puritan Great Migration (1621-1640).

Martha Hull was born[1] and/or baptized October 29, 1620.[2]at Crewkerne, Somerset, England.[2][3]

Her father, George Hull emigrated to Dorchester, Massachusetts, New England in 1632.[2]It is possible that she, along with her mother Thamzen (Michell) Hull and siblings emigrated to New England a few years later rather than sailing with George. It is certain that she, her mother, and siblings were in New England by about 1632-4 because it was at that time that her sister Mary (or Marie) was married to Humphrey Pinney.[3]

Martha was named in her father's will in 1659.[2]Anderson in his book, "The Great Migration Begins, 1620-1635" says, residue to "my four daughters equally to be divided that is to Mary, Martha, Elizabeth, Naomy."

No further information is known about Martha Hull.[2]
