The Cornelius Hull of this profile was a lieutenant in the Fairfield trainband.[3]

He established a hamlet within the Town of Fairfield called Hull's Farms. It was situated on a large parcel of land that his father acquired.[5] Several generations of his descendants as well as households of several prominent early Fairfield families resided in Hull's Farms.[3]

He was a founding member of the Greenfield Hill Congregational Church which was established in 1725.[5]

The will that he signed on 21 January 1735 was proven on 12 August 1740.[1][12] It mentions daughters Rebecca Meeker, Elizabeth Burr, Martha Sherwood, Eleanor Pherrey [sic]; granddaughter Sarah Sanford; and sons George, Nathaniel, Ebenezer, John and Cornelius.[1][12]His inventory was taken on 11 December 1740.[13]

Research Notes

The Hale Collection of Connecticut Cemetery Records shows his death date as 8 May 1740.[11] However, this date appears to have been transcribed incorrectly since a photograph of his gravestone posted at Find A Grave clearly shows his death date as "May ye 7th 1740" when the image is displayed at full resolution in a photo editor and the contrast is enhanced.
