Biography

Alice "Kebble" Perkins was born circa 1527-1530 in Hillmorton, Warwickshire, England.[1] Her parents are not known and her LNAB is not certain. The name Kebble has been inferred from her husband's naming of "my brother Kebble's wife" in his will. Four Kebble wills in the same locality and period have been abstracted and none of them links to this Alice "Kebble" Perkins.[2]

Alice married Thomas Perkins about 1555 at Hillmorton, Warwickshire. Thomas and Alice had the following children:[1]

  • Henry, born c 1555, buried 11 March 1608/9, married Elizabeth Sawbridge and had 15 children[1]
  • John, died before 6 June 1602, married Elizabeth Shaw[1]
  • William, died March 1590, married Elizabeth ____[1]
  • Edward, died August 1619, married Sara Smyth[1]
  • Thomas, Jr., died December 1629, married Mary Bate[1]
  • Francis, baptized 20 April 1565, died before 1588[1]
  • Luke, baptized 20 September 1568[1]
  • Isaac, baptized 20 December 1571, died before 1639 in New England, married first Alice_____, married second Alice _______[1]

An Alice Perkins appeared on the Rolls on 17 Dec 1601. Alice was buried at Hillmorton, Warwickshire on 20 Aug 1613,[1][3] at Saint John Baptist Churchyard.[4]

Research Notes

LNAB

The naming of Kebble family members in the will of Thomas Perkins may indicate a possible relationship between the Kebble and Perkyns families. The relationship inferred in this will has been cited as a source for Alice's LNAB. More research is needed regarding her background.

Can we remove Henry as the father of Alice? There is no evidence that he is her father. There is no proof of her LNAB, Kebble is inferred from her husband's will.

Kay is correct. Could someone please merge these? I'll do the clean-up!

Pre-merge move: Removed Henry as husband and wrote priv note to Kebbell manager.

If no answer will get merge help. GW

Kebbell-1 and Kebble-2 appear to represent the same person because: Please agree to merge these duplicate profiles for the wife of Thomas Perkins. Kebbell-1 incorrectly shows her husband to be Henry Perkins, but that profile should be merged into Thomas Perkins-1338 to clear that issue. The correct final profile should be Kebble-2. Thanks!

Kebble-2 and Kebbell-1 are not ready to be merged because: Spouse's first names differ. It is unclear if these are the same person, but it appears likely.

Kebbell-1 and Kebble-2 appear to represent the same person because: Cleary the same person with same father and birth and death years. Husband's surname the same (first name to be reconciled).

Kebble-26 and Kebble-2 appear to represent the same person because: Matching husband and DOD. Kebble-26 manager suggested merge of Husbands
