Rebecca Lax was born in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia on 11 May 1874; she was the daughter of Reuben Lax and Eliza Harris.
She was a bridesmaid for a relative named Mary Zalewiski; when she married Leo Dilger on 2 January 1893.
Her own wedding day was celebrated in Fortitude Valley Church of England Brisbane; on 4 March 1896 to Eugene Albert McCullagh and they had three known children named:- Alexander Austral McCullagh, Gladys Aurelia McCullagh and Herbert Valerius McCullagh.
Obituaries and death notices for her husband suggest that the family had moved in 1939 to Tuncurry a coastal town on the mid north coast of New South Wales and by the time of her demise; her address was in the Wingham district, New South Wales.
