Elizabeth Luttrell was the daughter of Sir Hugh Luttrell and Katherine Beaumont,[1][2] She was perhaps born at Dunster, Somerset (home of her parents), about 1388 (seemingly based on her first marriage in 1406).[3]
William[1] married Philippa Stonor;[6] died 4 November 1480; no issue.[4]
Her husband, William, died between 1418 and 1423, and Elizabeth married second, John Stratton, Esq. sometime after 1423.[1] They had two daughters:
Elizabeth born about 1425; married John Andrews, Esq., about 1439; died before 11 December 1474; issue.[7]
Alice married (1) William Holt, (2) Sir Hugh Wyche; died before 26 November 1474 (proof of will); no issue.[8][9]
Richardson does not include Alice. See the research note below for evidence of her.
Death
Richardson and Colket note Elizabeth was living 4 October 1438 when she was made executor of the will of Peter Maudby, Armiger, of Sperham,[1][4] but it appears she was living as late as 4 August 1439 (17 Henry VI, 1 September 1438 - 31 August 1439) when she and her husband made a deed to John Heydon.[10]
Research Notes
Parents
The Luttrell pedigree in the Visitation of Somerset makes Elizabeth the sister of her father, rather than his daughter.[11]
Alice Stratton
The wills of Thomas Windsor, his wife Elizabeth, and that of Lady Alice Wyche show that Alice was Elizabeth's sister.
In her will, dated 18 October and proved 11 December 1474, Dame Elizabeth Andrews named as her overseer, her sister, Lady Wyche [no given name], and her daughter Elizabeth Wyndesor and her husband Thomas Windsor.[12]
In her will, dated 16 June and proved 16 November 1474, Dame Alice Wyche identified her late husbands, William Holt and Sir Hugh Wyche, "cousin" Elizabeth, wife of Thomas Wyndesore and their son, Andrews Wyndesor, and "cousin" Thomas Wyndesore, executor.[8]
In his will, dated 13 August 1479 and proved 15 February 1485[/6?], Thomas Wyndesor mentions unfinished articles from the will of Dame Alice Wyche regarding debts still owing to her. He does not mention the relationship to Dame Alice, but does leave money for prayers for her soul.[13]
