Biography

Ruth Mathewson was born in the 1660's, daughter of James and Hannah (Field) Mathewson, of Providence, Rhode Island. Ruth married Benjamin Whipple on April 1, 1686 at Providence. ^{[1][2] [3] [4]}

Benjamin was christened at Dorchester, Massachusetts on 4: 4: 1654, [June 4, 1655] son of Captain John and Sarah (? Darling) Whipple. ^{[5] [2][6]}

They lived at a farm at Fruit Hill, now a part of North Providence. ^[6]

Benjamin died March 11, 1703/4 at Providence. ^{[7] [2]}

His widow Ruth died after 1704. ^[3]
