Biography
Demaris Melton was born on 8 Mar 1800 in Nash, North Carolina to parents David Matthew Melton and Barsheba Barefield Thomas. She married firstly Bryant Spradley about 1818 in South Carolina. Children: William Bryant, Temperance S, Nancy Caroline, Joshua Melton, James Reed, Samuel Bryan, Pleasant Henry. After Bryant died in 1845 she married secondly Jacob Jackson on 21 Sep 1848 in Greene, Illinois. After Jacob died about 1859 she married thirdly Stephen Marshall about 1864 in Collin, Texas. She died on 15 Sep 1887 in Collin, Texas. She was buried in Rowlett Creek Cemetery, Collin County, Texas and shares a gravestone with James Reed Spradley and Melissa Jane Spradley. [1]
