Biography
1880: We find Joseph Miller (age 18) listed in the US Federal Census June 8,1880 living with his parents and siblings in Silver Creek, Greene, Ohio. He is the first of eight siblings - Emma (age 16), Louis (age 15), Jacob (age 12), William (age 11), Daniel (age 10), Frank (age 8) and Gustavus (age 6). Joseph is listed as "works as farmer" for his occupation, while his father, John Miller (age 57) does not show an occupation and his mother Gertrude (age 46) is shown as "keeping house". There is one discrepancy noted that the Father was listed as born in Austria which we have discounted as an error in recording. All other facts appear to confirm know information about the family. 1939: Joseph Miller died at age 77 on Apr 29, 1939 in Springfield, Clark, Ohio and was buried on May 2, 1939 at Calvary Cemetery. At the time of his death, he was Widowed from his wife Caroline Miller's earlier death.[3]
Joseph was born in 1862. He was the son of John Miller and Gertrude Draugenstein. He passed away in 1929.[4]
