William was born about 1811. He was the son of George Mustard and Sarah Gordon. He passed away in 1898.[1]
William was profiled in an 1893 publication.[2] In this profile of Markham residents he said he was the second eldest son of the twelve children of George and Sarah Mustard. Only eight children appear to have been documented.
William was the eldest to survive, however, as he took over his father's land at Con. 5, Lot 29 Markham township before his father died.[3] While the profile primarily concerns itself with William's father George, it does say that William was a blacksmith.
William married Ann Graham about 1841 in Markham and had nine documented children with her. They appear in the 1851 Census of Canada West in Markham, York Co. with five children.[4]According to the agricultural schedule of that census, he was farming 100 acres on Con. 5, Lot 29 of Markham, York County, Canada West[5]
