I ran our kit comparisons on GEDmatch and confirmed all the relationships up to William & Lydia Toomer. You can upgrade your mother's relationship to her father as confirmed by DNA with the following citation, if you like:

"Paternal relationship is confirmed by a GEDmatch test match between Jacqueline (Passey) Perry GEDmatch RF5457658 and her second cousin once removed Doug (Osborn) Baughman GEDmatch GU8014652. Their most-recent common ancestors are William Theobald Passey (1862-1935) and Lydia Ann (Toomer) Passey (1868-1943). Estimated number of generations to MRCA = 3.6, based on sharing 91.4cM across 5 half-match segments."

I think that's the only privacy-locked profile in our relationship chains so I can update the rest.

We are are 17th cousins twice removed..

Hi Doug,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or special event. Read the goals and tasks of the project and join if it is a good fit.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Hello Douglas,

Welcome to WikiTree! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used.

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? When you confirm your email address, you’ll have an opportunity to volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests.

Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!

Welcome to the family! We’re really glad you’re here.
