Biography

Edward was born in 1845 in Perth, Western Australia.[1]

He married Sarah Jane Austin on 23 October 1870 in Perth.[2] They had seven children over 23 years.

Edward was noted as a labourer in the 1884-9 Almanac. He was at "Addington", Beverley in 1889.[3]

THE LATE MR. EDWARD PARKER. The funeral of an old and respected colonist took place on the 5th inst, in the person of Mr. Edward Parker. He leaves a widow and a grown-up fam ily of, five daughters, two sons (both on active service), ten grand-sons, and 18 grand-daughters. The deceased was born in this city 72 years ago, and re sided here all his life. The cortege moved from Messrs. Bowra and O'Dea's private mortuary in Pier-street, and proceeded to the Methodist Cemetery, Karrakatta, where the remains were interred, the Rev. J. H. Langdon offi ciating at the graveside.

The chief mourners were:— Mrs. Sarah J. Parker (widow), Mrs. J. Williams, Mrs. J. Sharman, Mrs. A. Johnson, Mrs. W. Clare, and Mrs. F. Woods (daughters), Mr. Arthur Parker and Mr. W. Parker (on active service), (sons), Messrs. Joseph, Henry, Thomas, John, and Richard Parker (brothers), J. Williams, J. Sharman, A. Johnson, W. Clare, and F. Woods (sons-in-law), Mrs. A. Parker (daughter-in-law), Mrs. R. Parker (sis ter-in-law), Mr. W. Austin, and Mr. F. Woodley (brothers-in-law), Mr. A. Woodley, Messrs. Edward, G. C, and Ernest Parker (nephews). The pall T. Harvey, J. E. Lucas, W. A. Watson, F. Barney, J. E. Lucas, W. A. Ford, T. P. Hannaford, and Private W. Sharman. A large number of wreaths and floral tributes were placed on the grave, and numerous letters and mes sages of condolence were received by the bereaved family. The funeral ar rangements were in the hands of Bowra and O'Dea.[4]
