Biography
Richard Perkins was born in 1729/30. He was the son of Daniel Perkins and Anne Foster.[1] Richard is a third great grandson of Mayflower passenger James Chilton through his mother Anne.[2]
Richard married Mary Hancock on 9 October 1760 in Bridgewater, Plymouth, Massachusetts.[3][4] They had the following children:[5]
Daniel Perkins b 19 Aug 1761, married Bathsheba Williams
Mary Perkins b 9 Mar 1763
Ann Perkins b 17 Sep 1764, never married
Richard Perkins b 1 May 1766, married Eliza Nichols
George Washington Perkins b 8 Dec 1778, married Anna Ames
In 1793, Richard was appointed guardian of the estate of his minor children, William Perkins, Foster Perkins, George Washington Perkins, and Lucy Perkins, all above the age of 14 years, who inherited an estate from their uncle John Hancock, Esqr, late Govr of the Commonwealth.[6]
