Hello Ms. Weir...I am wondering if you or anybody else has found any more documentation on Francis Elliot (1661-1735). Records indicate he was a mariner from Salem that settled in Thompson, CT, married Abigail Nichols 06JUN1686. He is my 8GG. However, I can't find his parents and am wondering if he is connected somehow to John "Apostle to the Indians" Eliot. Any insight or advice you may offer would be greatly appreciated.

v/r...James

Hi! I I'm not related to Francis, but it seems like I looked into him briefly a few years ago, but was not able to find anything. Sorry. I'd suggest looking into land records, though unfortunately the fact that he was a mariner makes it harder to trace.

Hi again,

I sent you a message a couple of weeks ago on behalf of the Germany Project and have not yet heard back from you. I hope you are well!

If I don’t hear back from you by the end of April, I will assume you no longer wish to be a member of the Germany Project and I’ll go ahead and remove you from our member roster. You are, of course, welcome to rejoin at any time via our G2G sign-up post.

Best wishes,

Traci ~ Germany Project co-leader

Hi,

The Germany Project Leaders are doing their semi-annual check-in with all project members and we want to verify that you’re still interested in being a member of the Project. Please respond by private message and let me know.

Are you currently working with one of our Sub-projects or Teams? If not, take a look at our main Project page for a full list. We recently launched a new Profile Improvement Team and are seeking new team members. Let me know if you’re interested.

We really appreciate your contributions on WikiTree, and thank you for all your hard work. If you have any questions, please ask. We would also love to hear any feedback you may have for the project.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Thanks for suggesting the merge of Elisha and Elihu Thayer. They are clearly the same person and his name was Elihu. I have been unable to find a birth certificate for him in Braintree, MA, but hope to find his grave in Kingston, NH and maybe Hanna will be there too! I am also unsure of Hannah Calef's date of death, but I bet she's buried with Elihu in Kingston, NH. Maybe the date is there. If she died in 1859, she was about 99 years old, but I also have a date of 1841, which is still 29 years longer than her husband lived. Stay tuned!

Hi, if FindAGrave removed the memorial completely I would think there is something wrong with the data provided. That is why I remove invalid FAG links. Thanks, Teresa

Hi Janelle,

You've been a member of WikiTree for about a week so I am checking in to see how it is going. The New Member How-Tos are for you to work at your own pace. There are some great tips in there that can save time & aggravation with the WikiTree learning curve. Have they helped?

I'm here to help with questions about how WikiTree works. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page. I'll get back to you by the end of the day.

Debi ~ WikiGreeter

P.S. If links do not work in an email from WikiTree, try them from the comment section on your profile page.

PPS Did you discover that the tags on your profile are clickable links to a page of other people who have that tag? You can add more, up to 20 total.

Hello, Janelle! I am also descended from a John Dodds.IDK if it's the same ancestor as yours. My Dodds family settled in Vermont. There are a bunch of descendants on WIkitree. Feel free to check out my tree and see if you can link your tree to the many Doddses already here.

Welcome!

I'd like to see your G-parents' photo in a larger size on their profile page! Interesting stuff, these photos. I must still get my own scanned.
Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz, Janelle!

Pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, thus working within the projects which coordinate them is essential.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one to fit your ancestors. Join if it is a good fit.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.
