Some of my Family Surnames include: REAGAN, BLACK, WADDLE, ARMSTRONG, FOUTCH, TOWNSEND, OVERSTREET, BUIE, BULLARD, FISH, ROBINSON, PERRY, MOON, WOODCOCK, DOBBIN, SCOFIELD, KŌCHI, MAEDA, TAIRA. Please click this link for a growing List of My Family Surnames.
Most of my maternal family line are indigenous Ryukyuans. My motherʻs maternal ancestral village is Kijōka, Ogimi while her fatherʻs Kōchi family are from Shuri. Some of our immediate family from Ogimi, including one of my Uncles, is part of the Okinawan diaspora that migrated to Argentina in response to Japan using our land and people as shields from US military during WWII. Some of our Kōchi family were forced into exile as they were deemed "enemies of the state" by the Japanese government because they remained loyal to the Ryukyu Kingdom, despite Japanʻs ongoing efforts even til today to keep our islands an internal colony. Meanwhile, I moved to the U.S. with my parents back in the '80s.
On my paternal family lines, we are a bit of Irish and mostly Scottish and British immigrants that arrived in the United States dating back to the arrival of the Mayflower and the Plymouth Colony. My father's maternal family also includes Mississippi Band of Choctaw and Creek, some of whom married and/or had children with these early European settlers. My paternal ancestors include Hopothle Mico, Chief of Big Tallisee or the “Tallisee King” of the Creek Nation whose daughter Sarah married my 5th great-grandfather.
A few notable connections are included below but they are no more or less honored than those whose names do not grace history books.
I am:
A Great-Grandchild of Satoru Kouchi, royal Ryukan sake (wine) maker, one of only a handful of elite artisan awamori makers who worked directly for the Ryukyu Kingdom.
A Great-Great-Great Grandchild of Mary Ann (Fish) Townsend and Goodenough Townsend who were early settlers and played an integral in the founding of Davison Township, Genessee County, Michigan.
A third great grand niece of Dr. Melancthon W Fish and his wife Emily A (Maitland) Fish who was the Lighthouse Keeper at Point Pinos (from 1893 to 1914) and whose daughter Juliet E (Maitland) Fish was a Lighthouse Keeper at Point Knox on Angel Island in San Francisco Bay.
A 10th Great-Grandchild of Rev. John Robinson, Pastor of the Pilgrims.

Thank you for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Participation in a Pre-1700 Project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Collaboration is essential because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants.
It looks like Native Americans Project would be a good fit with the tag you entered.
Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)
