Biography
Bartholomew Roberts, son of Francis Roberts and Martha Hatchett, born Nov. 27, 1776 in Charlotte County, Virginia; died April 23, 1856 in Butts County, Georgia.
Bartholomew Roberts married Rebecca M. Fears, daughter of William Fears and Frances Sadler, in Charlotte County, Virginia on December 22, 1800.[1]
The Roberts left Virginia and went to Morgan County, Georgia about 1812/1813. According to the Hatchett article below, they had the following sons, no daughters are mentioned.
- James Henry Roberts b. 9 Nov 1801 in Charlotte, Virginia. Moved with his family to Morgan County, Georgia and then he moved to Jasper County, Georgia about 1834. Died 8 May 1896 in Forsyth, Georgia.

- Giles T. Roberts
- Michael Archer Roberts
- Taswell Roberts
- Bartholomew Grief Roberts married Carolyn McMichael daughter of Shadrack and Mary Castalow McMichael. They lived in Jasper County, Georgia

Research Note on above Hatchett source. These are notes from a forum on Jasper County, Georgia. It states that Rebecca Mills Fears is the daughter of William Fears, Rev. Soldier and Ann Bulger. This is incorrect and has been proven as such. Rebecca's parents were William Fears, Rev. Soldier but his wife and Rebecca's mother was Frances Sadler, not Ann Bulger.
