Samuel and Ruth did not have a child named Ruth. She should be detached from these parents. (Esther Littleford Woodsworth-Barnes, Mayflower Families through Five Generations, Vol 16, Part 1, The Descendants of John Alden, General Society of Mayflower Descendants, 2002. "The Silver Book" Page 164)

I've spent considerable time researching this. -- I don't know why the current Mayflower Alden book has disclaimed Ruth as a daughter of Samuel. She has a birth record and her gravestone clearly says she was the daughter of Lt. Samuel. The Society had previously claimed the wrong Ruth as his daughter, so I'm wondering if they just forgot to put the right one back.

Manager, I am going to disconnect Israel Hammond. He and Ruth never married because she died before the nuptials took place as her gravestone says "At Gods command her bridegroom she exchanged" I will of course leave the link. Thank you.
