William Stanley, 6th Earl of Derby (1561-1642) was the son of Henry Stanley, 4th Earl of Derby and Lady Margaret Clifford. He married Lady Elizabeth de Vere, daughter of Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford and Anne Cecil, on 26 June 1594.
He held the office of Sovereign Lord of the Isle of Man. He succeeded to the title of 6th Earl of Derby [E., 1485] on 16 April 1594. He was invested as a Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1601.

Willem was born in 1561 in Cannon Row. He was the son of Henry Stanley KG and Margaret (Clifford) Stanley.[1]
Willem died at the age of about 81 on 29 September 1642 in Cheshire England.[1][2][3]
Willem was buried after 29 September 1642 in Ormskirk, West Lancashire District, Lancashire, England.[4]
