Notes for JOHN REUBEN STRINGFELLOW, SR.: 1. Talbot County, Georgia Deed Book, 1833 - 1837, (C -D), Page 313: October 27, 1834- Reuben Stringfellow of Russell County, Alabama to son Reuben Stringfellow, Jr. of Muscogee County, Georgia, for love and affection, land lot 6, north half, 101.25 acres, in the 17th District. 2. Warren County, North Carolina Will Book 8, deed dated December 12, 1794.3. The 1850 Federal Census of Tallapoosa County, Alabama.Enumerated with Reuben and Elizabeth were Jackson, 21 and Martha Jane, 22 both listed as having been born in South Carolina.

John Rueben Stringfellow, Jr. and his wife, Anna McCrory, adopted Jefferson (Jeffrey) Wiacht Parks when he was an infant. 2. Reuben Stringfellow, Jr. sold the north half of LL6 in the 17th District of Talbot County, Georgia, which had been given to him by his father, to David Daniel for $101.25 on April 28, 1835. Recorded in Talbot County, Georgia Deed Book C - D, page 548. ii. WILLIAM ROBERT STRINGFELLOW, b. 1818, South Carolina. iii. ANDREW JACKSON STRINGFELLOW, b. Abt. 1826; m. MARTHA. iv. JAMES MADISON STRINGFELLOW. v. UNKNOWN STRINGFELLOW, m. HENRY PARKS.

MCDONALD4 STRINGFELLOW (ENOCH MARTIN3, WILLIAM2, WILLIAM1) was born December 18, 1799 in North Carolina, and died November 03, 1875.He married KEZIAH ELIZABETH BOSTICK February 25, 1824, daughter of JAMES BOSTICK and MARY.She was born May 23, 1808 in South Carolina, and died May 15, 1855. Notes for MCDONALD STRINGFELLOW: 1. McDonald Stringfellow bought goods that had previously belonged to William Stringfellow, Jr. of Richmond County, NC at a sale of William's property February 10, 1825. 2. Witnessed the will of his step-mother, Elizabeth Evans Coleman Langham Stringfellow, of Greene County, Alabama on May 14, 1853. 3. McDonald's stepmother, Elizabeth Stringfellow, was living in his household at the time of the 1850 Federal Census. Excerpt from McDonald Stringfellow's Dairy (Concerning the Stringfellows' move from Richmond County, North Carolina.) "We were on the road nearly three months; camped along the way; were held up in Georgia, awaiting a permit, however, we only experienced a few minor mishaps such as broken axles and wheels, but everyone suffered from numerous mosquito bites and there were a few wasp stings. It caused quite a sensation when the caravan arrived in Greene County with 35 to 40 white people, which made up the two families, plus one cousin, and over four times that many negroes, plus the wagons, furniture, equipment, etc. Altogether this made a complete wagon train in itself. This move proved unhealthy for my father and uncle as far as the slaves were concerned; only a matter of months after our arrival we experienced a typhoid epidemic, which claimed the lives of many of their slaves - for a while they were dying so fast that we thought we were going to lose all of them."

The book also includes the statement "Henry Stringfellow removed from Newberry to Alabama and there died, leaving three children, Frances, William and Thornton, him surviving." 3. We know that this Henry's brother, William, moved to Chester District from Virginia. There are many records in Chester District concerning William and his descendants. 4. Henry's son, Thornton's, birth state is given as South Carolina and his age as 41 in the 1850 Federal Census. This would indicate that this Henry was in South Carolina in 1809. The other two children were listed as having been born in Virginia on that census.

Notes for WILLIAM STRINGFELLOW: 1. William Stringfellow's will is on record in Barnwell County, South Carolina. It is dated September 15, 1812, but was executed in 1814. 2. There are land records in Virginia and North Carolina that indicate that William's wife was named Mary. At this point in time I have not been able to determine if William had been married prior to marrying Rebecca. It is just as likely that Rebecca was also named Mary and that she used either name at various times. Notes for REBECCA MARTIN: 1. Rebecca Stringfellow is named in the will of her husband, William Stringfellow, dated September 15, 1812, on record in Barnwell County, South Carolina. 2. Rebecca Stringfellow was enumerated on the 1820 Federal Census of Barnwell District, South Carolina. 3. Rebecca Stringfellow's first or middle name may have been Mary.

Children of WILLIAM STRINGFELLOW and REBECCA MARTIN are: i. WILLIAM3 STRINGFELLOW, b. 1755, King George County, Virginia; d. January 1825, Richmond County, North Carolina. Henry Stringfellow testified in Barnwell Court during the suit brought by the children of his brother, Richard Stringfellow, against Richard's third and common-law wife, Catherine Scott. The Jury's verdict was declared June 20,1836. Note: Henry Stringfellow was not enumerated in the 1840 census of Barnwell District, South Carolina and I have not been able to find any records on him after 1836. You can see he spent four years in the Army of Tennessee. You duplicated an existing profile. The dates are exactly the same and he did not spend his whole life in Alabama. If you want more sources you are required to add them to the existing profile. The profile you created has nothing but his name and two dates that match the existing profile.
