DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:

Hi Donnie, likely no relation. Unfortunately, two Find-a-Grave memorials were merged into one for John Stroud (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Stroud-477). One John was from New Jersey and the other was from Virginia. Then Barnett Stroud got attached as the father...
Ok Thanks I believe I’m on the right track with my line seems my Griffin and Trotter family is correct does the Stroud family have a Facebook page

George Strode (Strode-28) was removed as father of John Stroud by Dr David Hughey because current evidence does not support George Strode as his father.

Please do not re-add him as John's father unless compelling evidence is found to support this relationship.

I agree with David. I've done a lot of research on this family & have never located information as to who his parents were. I believe George should be detached as father.
John Stroud is said to have been born 1670 in Virginia to George Strode and unk mother. George Strode was born in England in 1654 which means he would have been 16 years of age when John was born. It also seems unlikely that George Strode would have been in Virginia at that time since his parents are not documented as ever being in America. Are there any sources that support George Strodes early presence in Virginia or that he is the father of John Stroud b 1670 in Virginia ?
