Biography

William Talbott was born about 1722. He married Leanna Mason in Fairfax, Virginia 1741. He passed away around 1790 as indicated in the applications of US SONS of the American Revolution Membership

Journals of the House of Burgess, Va. 1761-1765 Petition on Pages 68,71,72. Successful. Reſolved , That the ſaid William Talbot ought to be paid the Sum of £60 by the Publick , in Conſideration of the Wounds he received in the Service of this Colony , and the Hardſhips he endured in his Captivity . A petition of William Talbott, fetting forth that in 1755, he lifted in the Virginia Regiment , and ſerved as a Sergeant therein until the Year 1758 , when in Col . Grant ' s Engagement , near Fort Duqueſne , he received a Wound in his right Arm , which has rendered him incapable of hard Labour ; that he was then taken Priſoner , and carried by the Indians to Fort d ' Etroit , where he endured a ſevere Captivity of 15 Months ; when he was delivered up by the Indians , and rejoined the Regiment , in which he con tinued faithful in Duty until March laſt , when the Regiment was broke , and among others was diſcharged ; and praying the Conſideration of the Houſe , was preſented to the Houfe and read.

You are right, I believe. Someone created a duplicate of Talbott-1098 without much documentation; and while I gave permission to merge, the merge was to put Talbot-4510 into the older profile. It is really getting tiring of new duplicates without information to substantiate the duplicates.
