Communication Preferences: I am interested in communicating private message with anyone who shares the same genealogical or historical interests. Here is my family tree.
I have a cousin line we worked together on, I promised to keep his line private. It is unpublished in Descents of Thomas Tenney book, published in 1904. So keep my promise to him. Forever for living Descents. I understand my immigration 1638 research can be public space profile without breaking my promise to living people. The same privacy promise, I gave as a Federal censuses records  : Were you Counted Federal censuses records.

Hi again! You sent me a private message via the Space:Name Field Guidelines page, which had nothing to do with that page.

You should have received a copy of your private e-mail. I would recommend that your post it in G2G, linked from the most appropriate profile.

WikiTree is a single, global tree. If a person has more than one profile, we collaborate to merge them, since each person only gets one profile. When there is confusion or disputes, sources are key.

If you haven't yet gone through the New Member How-Tos, I highly recommend them - see Category: New Member How-To.

Cheers, Liz

Hi! Thanks for contacting me. I think you may have misread something, or I'm misunderstanding - only 17 of the 25 Magna Carta Surety Barons had descendants past the fourth generation. So... it's entirely possible you're related to a bunch of them (they were peers and their families intermarried), possibly even all 17. If I recall, there are two that are not as interconnected as the others; many people may find they are related to up to 15, or maybe just one or two. The Magna Carta Project is working on ensuring that there is at least one trail of profiles from each of the "Gateway Ancestors" documented by Douglas Richardson to one of those 17 barons, so if you can document your relationship to one of those Gateway Ancestors, you can be sure you're related to at least one and probably more barons. For the Gateways included in the project, please see Category: Gateway Ancestors.

You asked where to start - I would recommend that you start by building your tree (adding parents, grands, etc.). I think there may be a limit to how many profiles you can created before signing the Honor Code, so if you get blocked while building your tree, signing the Honor Code should resolve it. If you haven't gone through the New Member How-Tos yet, I highly recommend them - see Category: New Member How-To.

Welcome to WikiTree!

Cheers, Liz

Hello J,

We are so happy you decided to upgrade to the Family Member level.

Please visit our tutorial pages to learn how to use WikiTree: How To Use WikiTree. They will save you time, energy, and frustration as you add your family profiles.

Exploring the site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.

Questions? You can always use the G2G link in the Help Menu to find answers.
