NOTE: Mercy Tomson did not marry. The honorific "MRS" was used at the time, as a mark of respect, regardless of marital status.
Mercy Tomson was born about 1670/1 and died, unmarried, 19 April in 1756 in Halifax, Plymouth, Province of Massachusetts Bay.[1]
The Will of John Tomson
I believe we can safely presume that the children listed in John's Will (b. order not certain), are correct and were living on the date it was written.
John's will was dated 23 April 1696 [Plym Prob 1: 241-45].
Marcy died intestate and on 3 May 1756, Zebediah Tomson was granted the administration of her estate.[2]
Her inventory was taken on 13 May 1756 in Halifax.[3]
In 1756, an account of her estate was recorded which included funeral costs, and debts. She had no surviving siblings, so it was ordered to divide the estate among the children of the brothers and sisters, viz., the children of John Tomson, Jacob Tomson, Thomas Tomson, Peter Tomson, Mary Tabor, Esther Reed, Elizabeth Swift, and Lydia Soul.[4]
