Biography

Bethia Trask was born circa 1756 in Plymouth, Province of Massachusetts Bay. The gravestone for Bethiah Trask Cook indicates she was the daughter of Elias Trask, and the genealogical source indicates she was probably the daughter of Elias and Abigail Trask, who also settled in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia but this is not confirmed in any other record located to date.

On July 31 1788, she married Captain Manasseh Cook, the son of Ephraim Cook and Louisa Ring, of Yarmouth Nova Scotia[1], and they had children, including:

  6. Hannah, born October 17, 1797, no further record found
  7. George (Capt), born June 28, 1799, who married Elizabeth Crosby, daughter of Edmund Crosby
  8. Elizabeth, born May 10, 1801, who married William Delaney of Ohio, NS
  9. Francis (Capt), born June 1, 1803, who married Joanna Crosby daughter of Ebenezer Crosby, and who died in 1882
