Stan Ulrich was born prior to 1950 in California. He lived in central California and attended school there through community college (earning a 2-year Associates Degree). He continued his education at San Diego State University (SDSU) earning a Bachelor's degree. He met his wife-to-be during his senior year at SDSU. He entered the Navy after graduating from SDSU and was stationed on the East Coast. His wife earned her Bachelor's degree and graduated a couple of years later. They married after she graduated and began their married life on the East Coast. Upon completing Navy service, they moved back to San Diego, California to start a family. They have two sons.
Stan has been doing family genealogy for several years. He is tracking ancestors for both his family and his wife's family. Both families have collected various elements for their family histories. He is trying to bring them together and continue the research.
Stan's family comes from Finland. Several cousins do genealogy research and have accessed church records in Finland. Family members who came to America did so from around 1885 to 1920. They settled in Portland, Oregon and Eureka, California areas. During a recent visit to Finland, he was able to see where his relatives lived, worked and grew up. He was able to see the grave sites of ancestors back five generations. Stan's ethnicity (in descending percentages) is Finland/Northwest Russia, Scandinavia, Europe West and Europe East as tested by Ancestry DNA.
His wife's family comes from United Kingdom, France and Germany. She has several long lines that go back to England that include a family sailing with the Winthrop Fleet. Her family settled on the East Coast and moved south. Others arrived from Europe to Louisiana. The immediate family came west to California. Her ethnicity (in descending percentages) is Great Britain, Italy/Greece, Iberian Peninsula, Ireland, Scandinavia and Europe East as tested by Ancestry DNA.

I am researching her French part of the family - Michel and Bialet in southern France. I have few leads on this.
My family is from Finland and those who came to America settled in Portland, OR and Eureka, CA. The family is fairly well documented due to church records.
