Biography

Sarah was the first wife of Thomas Hurlburt. Although no marriage record has been found, they are believed to have married 1642 or earlier based on the birth of their first child, 8 March 1642/3.[1] suggesting that Sarah was born about 1620 or earlier. According to Families of Old Fairfield, Thomas's first wife's name is not known,[1] however the birth record of son John as transcribed in the Barbour Collection records his wife as Sarah.[2]

Sarah died before 1679, when Thomas married his 2nd wife Elizabeth.[1]

Edward, thank you for your interest in Sara. Unfortunately, that FamilySearch profile for Sarah gives no evidence or explanation for why the surname or parents have been attached. (You'll also note that FamilySearch has two Sarah Nyes and an Elizabeth also attached as Thomas' spouses.) Before any surname is added we would need proof that such a change is warranted, and as of right now, there seems to be no evidence to suggest Sarah's birth name is known.

Please see comments on husband Thomas's profile. There doesn't seem to be any evidence showing that Sarah's last name was Ney, or that she was a daughter of Oliver. I've requested that her last name be changed to unknown.
