Biography

Joseph White, born 1645, son of Thomas and Hannah (Workman) White, married at Weymouth on 19 Sept. 1660, Lydia Rogers Joseph and Lydia Rodgers, Sept. 19, 1660.* [1] , born 27 March 1642, daughter of John Rogers of Weymouth (Weymouth VR 1:263, 2:213,605). He moved from Weymouth to Mendon some time between fall of 1663 and before spring 1664.

Children of Joseph & Lydia (Rogers) White: [note: the source book only discussed 1 of their children]

  1. Samuel b 14 Feb 1666 marr Nov 1735 to Prudence Williams, daug of Samuel Williams of Taunton, MA

He died on 23 March 1706[2][3][4] (Mendon Annals p. 8; Mendon VR p. 514). He left no probate records, a fact probably explained by a deed in which Joseph and Lydia described themselves as aged and unable to care for their farm and through which they transferred the reversion to their son, Joseph White, on 4 Dec. 1704 (Suffolk Co., Mass., LR 38:242, ack. by a witness and rec.6 Jul 1725)."[5]

23 March 1706 is the death date for Joseph White (Massachusetts Vital Records to 1850, citing Mendon vital records, volume 1, page 514). His widow, Lydia Rogers lived until 1727 (same source). Therefore, no marriage to Bethiah Mason
