DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.

I tried to find a Family Search profile that matched Williamson-1081 and looked for his son Cuthbert Williamson as well but did not find any matches already in Family Search.
I think we should disconnect Williamson-1081as husband to Smedley-235.
I believe that John Williams and Sarah Smedley are the parents of http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Williamson-3874 Sarah Williamson Calvert; however, my only sources are from other places on the internet, so I hesitate to link them here. I look forward to seeing if anyone has any other proof of her connection.
Both are connected as husband to Sarah (Smedley) Williamson (1694 - 1789): https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Smedley-235
At first glance I would say they are two different people and that williamson-1371 is the correct husband of Smedley-235 per information from Find A Grave: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/43517659/john-williamson
And that Williamson-1371 was a Quaker living in PA whereas Williamson-1081 was living in VA and left slaves to his heirs in his will.
On Family Search the profile for John Daniel Williamson looks well researched and lists Sarah Smedley as his wife. https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/L5P9-78R
